He remarked, "We can already see that Russia is rushing to restart dialogue immediately after it hears about cruise missiles." This statement addressed recent comments about supplying advanced missiles to Ukraine.

Political Developments and International Reactions

A former US state department official, a foreign policy expert, commented, "The Russian leader is attempting to derail the momentum toward greater sanctions on the Kremlin." He added, "We'll see on Friday, but the chances of moving toward a truce by pressuring Moscow to engage sincerely appear to have decreased."

This development came after Trump had in recent days been hardening his rhetoric toward Russia until the recent call with the Russian president, which the Kremlin characterized as "extremely open and constructive."

European Fuel Restrictions and Market Impact

The European Union have set a requirement for energy importers into the EU to prove their fuels are not sourced from Russian oil, as stated in a document published on recently. This measure is part of the EU's forthcoming prohibition on purchases of refined products made from Russian crude, which is included in its latest restrictive measures against Moscow over its war in Ukraine.

Financial experts observed that trading patterns appeared to be considering the potential end of India's imports of Russian oil. Some oil processors in India are getting ready to reduce Russian oil imports, with expectations of a phased reduction, according to insiders knowledgeable about the matter.

"This represents a positive development for the crude oil price as it would remove a big customer of Russian crude," commented a market analyst, adding that crude values were stable on the trading day.

Security Developments and Energy Attacks

A massive Russian unmanned aircraft and missile assault targeted gas facilities in eastern Ukraine on Thursday, resulting in outages in multiple regions. Authorities in Ukraine reported that Russia launched hundreds of drones and dozens of projectiles, along with glide bombs.

"This autumn, the Russians use daily opportunities to strike at our power facilities," declared Ukraine's president, adding that strikes impacted the regions of Chernihiv, Kharkiv, central Ukraine, Sumy and Vinnytsia.

International Political Responses

Ukraine's envoy to Washington, the Ukrainian ambassador, asserted that Russia demonstrated its real approach to negotiations through the "terror" of such strikes.
