The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The newest Far Cry instalment that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for delighting in chaos and mayhem with similar enthusiasm, all while weaving gripping, politically driven narratives. No wonder then that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two producers whose creations have embodied all of those qualities.

About the Series

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game series, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' style by featuring a different setting and cast of characters in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the producer.

“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners constantly supports me with their steady belief and support.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone series. Every instalment is a interpretation of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a version on a theme,” said Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can shift from year to year, while always delving into the core of humanity through this intricate and turbulent lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to partner with Rob and bring our common unconventional, daring approach to the screen.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
