First Story: Star Player Palmer Fit for High-Stakes Capital Clash with Arsenal

The Blues head coach Enzo Maresca confirmed on Friday that Cole Palmer is set to return for the team's significant Premier League encounter against London rivals Arsenal.

The 23-year-old England international was out of action due to a fractured toe suffered after an unfortunate incident.

“He is ready to start and participate,” Maresca declared. “All involved are pleased.”

In the current campaign, Palmer has featured in just four games across all competitions, scoring twice.

Since his arrival from Manchester City in the previous year, he has achieved 45 scores and 29 helpers in 101 games for the London club.

“He is our best player, we are pleased he is back, we need to give him time to be 100% fit,” Maresca added. “His past performances have been excellent and no doubt he is going to do great things for this club in the future.”

2. The Toffees Get No Explanation for Failed Gueye Red Card Appeal

The Merseyside club have failed in their protest against Idrissa Gueye's red card for a fight with fellow player Michael Keane during the team's narrow win at Manchester United.

The 36-year-old Senegalese player was dismissed just early on into the game after slapping Keane during a dispute over a misplaced pass.

The player immediately apologized, and the pair appeared reconciled afterwards in a mock online video.

However, the challenge against the dismissal was turned down, and Gueye must complete a three-game suspension, leaving Everton depleted for their upcoming match against Newcastle.

“We lodged an appeal and it was unsuccessful,” coach the manager said. “We received no rationale for the denial but we did appeal it.”

When asked about any further fallout from the incident, Moyes continued: “It ended right away, it was done, that was it, we moved on quite quickly and it was all sorted within the team environment.”

Third Story: Yoane Wissa Trains with The Magpies for Initial Session since Injury

The club's new signing Yoane Wissa has trained with his squad for the initial occasion since sustaining a knee problem shortly after his arrival from Brentford in September.

Head coach Eddie Howe confirmed the development on the end of the week but kept private a possible return date for the 29-year-old.

Newcastle brought in the striker for a significant fee to replace Alexander Isak, who joined Liverpool for a record-breaking sum.

Unfortunately, Wissa was injured while on international duty before he could make his debut for his new club.

“He is doing well, he trained with us for the first time on Wednesday, so I was extremely satisfied with how he looked,” Howe commented. “That’s his first time competitively with the group. Let’s see how he reacts today.”

The manager added: “We’ve got [a return date] in mind, but it’s likely best if I do not share it publicly. We aim to avoid letting people down. Of course, we want to include him as soon as possible.”

In other news, Kieran Trippier will be out of action for a month with a hamstring issue.

4. The Reds' Slump ‘Doesn’t Matter’, Says Hammers Boss Nuno

West Ham United head coach Nuno Espírito Santo has claimed that the reigning champions' current slump “is largely irrelevant” as his side gets ready to face the ailing Premier League champions.

The Liverpool manager's team has suffered six losses in seven recent Premier League games, dropping out of the top 10 of the standings.

Nevertheless, Nuno stressed that there can be no taking it easy when the teams clash on the weekend at the their home ground.

“Liverpool are a quality side and in football, what counts is what you do on the day,” Nuno commented. “We are preparing to play the title winners, players that are talented and capable of doing great things, so we have to prepare.

“The history of the results before, the performance of the teams, is not that important. It is about the day. Knowing that we are going to face a very good team, that has players able of doing wonderful things, so we have to prepare thoroughly, to compete.”

The Hammers will have available Lucas Paquetá after his suspension, while Crysencio Summerville and Dinos Mavropanos are progressing in their return from fitness issues.

5. Gibbs-White Could Feature for Forest against Brighton

Nottingham Forest's manager Sean Dyche is hopeful that Morgan Gibbs-White will be ready for the team's home fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

The English player was absent for Thursday's Europa League game against the Swedish side due to a back injury.

“Fortunately, it seems to be calming down,” Dyche said as he prepared to face Fabian Hürzeler's side, who have secured seven points from their last three matches.

“It’s comparable to back pain, but a morning sort of injury, one where you just sleep funny or twist funny. So we’re not expecting, at this stage anyway, that it’s too serious and it’s settling down already. So we’re confident that it’ll be fine for the weekend.”

Murillo was experiencing discomfort in his hamstring muscle after the comfortable European victory, but Dyche indicated the player “will likely be available”.

However, Ola Aina (thigh injury), Douglas Luiz (thigh), the winger (hamstring), Chris Wood (knee), and Oleksandr Zinchenko (hip) are likely to miss out.

6. Oliver Glasner: European Defeat Will Not Hinder Palace

Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner believes that the disappointment of midweek's Conference League defeat to the French side is a sign of how much progress the club has come in competing on multiple fronts.

The FA Cup winners went ahead at the away ground through Tyrick Mitchell's opening period goal but were equalized against by the opposition manager's team, who climbed to second in the table.

The Eagles now switch focus to Premier League competition with a home fixture against the Red Devils, and Glasner is confident his side can keep up their push for a Champions League spot.

“Similar to the late loss against Everton, it just feels that it was totally avoidable and it is our fault,” Glasner remarked. “On the other side, we have to take it on the chin. The effort was there but it is a game we shouldn’t definitely lose.”

Glasner confirmed that Borna Sosa would miss out for Sunday's match after he did not travel to Strasbourg, but Will Hughes, who was substituted during the first half against the opponents, is expected to be in the team selection.
